On 8/2/2010 at 20:37:22 UTC (2:37pm CST) the background radiation increased
from an average of about 90 hits in a 5 minute interval to 1900 hits in a 5
minute interval. See the plot here. I assume
it was caused by the 8/1/10 8:55 UT class C3 solar flare.
